[comp.os.msdos.misc] QBASIC won't run on my Toshiba T1000

mcl9337@harpo.tamu.edu (LOWE, MARK CHRISTOPHER) (06/24/91)

This isn't a big deal or anything, but I can't get QBASIC (and, hence, EDIT) to
run on this T1000 laptop of mine! It has no hard drive, so I installed the DOS
to four 3.5" floppies. After the program loads, the drive stops spinning and
just sits there, requiring a reboot. Anyone else have this problem?

This is IBM's DOS I'm using. Fortunately, this is NOT my main PC-compatible!
I'm just curious about why I'm having this problem. :-)

Wrong DOS. PC-DOS BASIC uses the ROM BASIC for part of it's operation
to save space. You don't have ROM BASIC. You wanted MS-DOS 5.0.
