Old V5.0 of QEMM, 2.x DV all played fine with my MSC PC Mouse 2, V1.0, COM2 serial mouse. Applications run within DV have NO problem with PC Mouse. My first clue there was a problem was when I upgraded to M$-DO$ 5.0, what a piece of crap, and my mouse died in their shell, BUT not in their editor. Never had a lick of trouble with MSC Mouse with ANY THING. Now not only is the Mouse USELESS in DOSSHELL, BUT ALSO in the Control menu and all QOS DV utility menus. MFT FROM WITHIN DV CANNOT HONOR MOUSE .. MFT from WITHOUT DV (2.34) runs fine .. Looks like the DV shell, JUST LIKE the DOSSHELL and Sorry Central Point, BUT the WONDERFUL new PCTOOLS V7.0 PCSHELL all are imune to the mouse. NO .. Even PCTOOLS works fine if it is NOT spawned from within DesqView. This should be the final touch to kill DOS .. UNIX should start to look real good even to the weak of heart .. QOS claims to have a 5 page fact sheet, available for FAXing that will deal with all our DOS 5.0 problems .. Any one have it electronic form ? It is supposed to be on their BBS if you are subscribed. Have moved down to the Tele Support's minimum config .. Has anyone found an upgrade from MSC's V1.0 pcmouse2.com driver for DOS 5.0 or other fixes .. thanks .. If you know of a download site for ftp or kermit for MSC v7.0.1 that woudl be welcome, too.
