PC Week for 6/25/90 announced in a front page article that Advanced Micro Devices will begin selling their clone of the Intel 80287 10 MHz math coprocessor DIRECT to end users for $99. I called AMD, and they are already shipping them. The have a toll-free line, and accept credit cards. Shipping/handling is $6.00, and for some reason they are assessing (your) local sales tax. So far this has only been advertised locally in Austin, Texas, and as a result of this and word of mouth, they are back ordered one week. The number to call is 800-888-5590. I ordered one! Yes, AMD is providing 80C287 for $99.00 and you have to pay local sales
tax on it if AMD has sale office/s in your state.
By the way check their GAURANTEE, you will like it.
