I have a series of users here in the Chemistry Department at UoW, who wish to use the IBM Data Acquisition and Control Adapter (DACA) board. The history of the software supplied with this board by IBM (circa 1984, using the Professional FORTRAN compiler) is not good, to say the least. The demonstration program supplied with this board does not work, and every group that uses this board ends up chucking the IBM control software and writing their own code (providing only the functions they need, using whatever compiler or interpreter they know/favor, and not programming for portability or maintaining the code. Sound familiar:-) If anyone has a library of routines for controlling this board, preferably written in Microsoft FORTRAN 5.0, or C 5.1, and would be willing to send me said source, I would be very grateful. -- Dave Dittrich INTERNET: dittrich@u.washington.edu (206) 685-2438 UUCP: uw-beaver!u.washington.edu!dittrich Dept of Chemistry, BG-10 University of Washington
