Here's an interesting problem that I, being somewhat new to this newsgroup, have not seen discused, but which I have to deal with. We are having trouble getting 386 clones equiped with VGA cards to communicate with our file server. We have a number of monochrome systems that aren't having any trouble, but when we stick a VGA card in, the only way to get it to connect with the server is by putting it (the VGA) into 8-bit mode. We are all hooked to the server via 16 Mbs IBM Token Ring Cards, and we're running Novell V2.15 at one site, and Novell's latest 386 version at another (not too clear on that one though). Does anyone know why a VGA card in 16-bit mode won't work with Token Ring. We've already tried changing the Token Ring interrupt from 2 to 3, change shared memory space, change shared memory size, etc. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks Eric
