Can anyone give me any information/opinion regarding the Boca Research's BOCA AT PLUS memory board. All I know about it is: 1) 0K-8MEG 2) 4.0 LIM compatible 3) 5 Year Warranty 4) Conventional, Expanded and Extended Memory 5) Supports DOS, OS/2 But is it any good? Does it support UNIX? Will it run in a 33Mhz 386 Box? I have seen it advertised for about $140.00 with 0K of Memory. I have been using the BocaRAM AT+ memory board for some months now, and I am quite pleased with it. The best thing that I can say about it is that it works. It uses 80-, 100-, or 120-ns 1x1meg DIP's in 2 MB increments. I am unaware of its Unix support, but all of the board's utilities (testing program, status program, EMS support, ram disk, etc.) are DOS programs or device drivers. Be aware, however, that the board requires a device driver to enable Zero-wait state operation. That driver probably won't work, then, under Unix. Although I know of no reason that the board will not operate in a 386-33, using a 16-bit card such as this will slow your computer down dramatically. I'm just barely squeezing 0 wait states in my 386SX-16; a 386-33 will undoubtedly require more. Hope this helps some. ______________________________________________________________________ Michael B.
