[comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware] seriously overpriced product

phil@brahms.amd.com (Phil Ngai) (07/28/90)

I saw in the latest PC Magazine that Microway of MA has a
plug-in board which turns a 286 motherboard into a 386sx.
This is already a silly idea (why run a 16 or 20 Mhz processor
with a memory system designed for 1 megabyte of 10 Mhz
memory?) but the real joke is that they want $495 for it!

You can easily get a complete 16 Mhz SX motherboard which
allows you to install 8 megabytes of mostly no wait state
memory for only $300. Without wasting a slot.

Just like the All Charge Card, here's a way to spend more
money for less performance.
