Hello! I just purchased an ST1162A (same as old CDC 94354-160 as per Seagate tech support). I hooked it up to a DT 3767 IDE interface. I have a 386 20 from Mylex, AMI bios. Interface works fine with a conner 3104. However, when I hook up the seagate, I can hear the drive spin etc, but then, right after the floppy check and probably during the hd test during powerup, the seagate just goes dead - stops spinning, just quiet. What gives? The manual for the interface (DT 3767) does not mention the seagate or the cdc drive, even though it lother drives it claims to support. So, is it concievable that these interfaces are actually different for different IDE drives? Seems a little odd, for example, you can hook up any MFM drive to any MFM controller, right? Or is the drive just plain bad? Thanks for any help! Milan .
