[comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware] Princeton Ultrasync gone yellow - ????

wabit@cbnewsm.att.com (david.w.mundhenk) (08/04/90)

The strangest thing has been happening to me lately -
my Princeton Ultrasync has a yellow cast to everything
_almost_ always. Sometimes it comes up OK. I know it's
not the "text" mode switch that turns everything green...
that's set properly. I've been running it off a Paradise
VGA Plus 16 card with the DIP set to "multisync timing".
It has worked fine until recently. The only thing I've
done lately is tested an analog VGA monitor on it, and
switched the DIP on the card back to "PS2 mode" or whatever
it calls it, temporarily.
Any ideas? Should I have the monitor serviced by Princeton?
It's a short drive for me to take it there - that's one
reason I bought it... ;-)

Thanks, Dave

Curiously enough, my Amdek 600 CGA monitor recently started doing the
same thing. I *think* that the Blue gun is going flaky.

You should have your service center look at it. I'd like to know whether
they fix it or tell you to replace it. (Or tell you it's something
else entirely....)

I fixed a problem just like this recently. Turns out that the monitor
_cable_ was bad. So try the cheap fix first...
