They have changed the Sound Blaster and made it less expensive. I bought one this weekend, in San Diego, for $140.00. To lower the price they have removed the CMS chips and added some text to speech software. So the new Sound Blaster is no longer compatible with the CMS sound stuff. If you want to buy the chips for CMS sound they are $30.00. The text to speech synthesis is not very exciting and with 20/20 hindsight I would recomend buying the original version of the Sound Blaster at the new 140.00 price. That way you get a total of 22 voices plus the voice channel instead of only 11 FM voices, the voice channel and the talking software. That is just my opinion.
