I have an ATI VGA-Wondercard (1024) and is looking for programming information for it. In the "PROGINFO.DOC" it says how the memory is organized, but what i im looking for is information about differences between the ATI Wondercard and normal VGA. What values to put into the extended registers? Specifically i am looking for information on how to setup the card directly on the hardware level. (Becuase i am using unix, the BIOS is no accessible.) I made a small program to setup a video mode with int 10, reads all the hardware registers, and puts the values in a files. With a similar program it is possible to read the dumped values and re-program the registers again. It works, except for the 800x400 and higher modes. It seems like I am missing something with the extended registers. Are they fully readable and re-programmable? Does anyone have any information regarding the card?

I have the ATI card that comes with the GATEWAY 2000 systems. It has 512k ram capable of 1024x768. I want to know that, if and when drivers come out that support 1024x768 in 256 colors, will I need 1 meg. of ram instead of 512k and if so, will this card accept 1 meg of ram???? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~ Bob N.
