I am looking for a diagnostic utility to help me diagnose my problem: After attempting to upgrade the DTK bios in our machine, our floppies on the machine (1.2M and 1.44M) stopped working. Switching back to the old bios and even switching controller cards and slots didn't seem to help. Attempting to read, write or format a disk usually freezes the machine, sometimes giving me a bad boot sector or "parity error" message. I am afraid that when I attempted to upgrade the bios I didn't immediately switch the dip for the ROM size, thus powering up the computer thinking it had 64K roms installed when in fact the new ones were 128K. The interesting thing is that the hard drive still works fine. Is there a utility that will help me locate the problem, as we are on a limited budget and cannot replace the motherboard. I have no problems ftp-ing as the machine in question has an ethernet connection.
