Evan, any chance you can configure your modem as COM3 or COM4 and
avoid the COM port conflict?  Most GOOD software (like Kermit or
PROCOMM or TELIX or etc (please no flames if I left your favorite
comm program out of this list!) work just fine with COM3 and COM4.
