I own an AMSTRAD PC 1640, which has the great advantage of not needing ventilation. Up to the day I installed a harddisk, I was therefore able to work peacefully. Ever since I've been looking for ways to combine quiet and storage space & speed. I've read somewhere that a SCSI-harddisk may be up to six meters away from its controller. So I thought that it might be a good idea to fit the harddisk in some container designed to reduce the noise and to put all this under the table. Being technically illiterate I should like to know whether this is possible at all, how it can be done and how do achieve this at a reasonable price. Any other suggestions are welcome, too.
