I have heard that it's possible to display EGA graphics on a standard MDA mono monitor. I currently have a mono monitor with the following data: * 20 MHz bandwidth * 15.75 AND 18.432 kHz hor. scanning frequency * 47-63 Hz vertical scanning frequency This monitor is currently used in conjunction with a CGA/Hercules card, and it's perfectly capable of displaying shades of gray. My question is: Will this monitor be able to display EGA graphics? If it is - will all the EGA modes work, like 640*350 in 16 shades of gray? If my information is correct the horisontal scan. freq. of the EGA is appr. 21 kHz, and this fact alone would make my monitor incompatible, or am I missing something here? By the way, the card I'm planning to buy is a 1024*768 Super The card uses a Trident chip set. It's NOT an original IBM EGA or an EGA-only card. Bengt Ask, Lund Institute of Technology, Lund, Sweden
