I called the Creative Labs (Sound Blaster folks) user-support BBS ( 1-415-742-6534 (S. San Francisco)) last night and downloaded a bunch of the goodies. I will try to call them today to see if it would be okay to redistribute them (net-wise). They had new drivers for some games and new drivers to resolve some problems people have been reporting with faster 386/486 systems. In addition to that, they had some file converters that convert .ROL files to .CMF format and .INS files to .SBI format. That archive also contained a mess of .SBI files so you won't have to do all the .INS conversions yourself. There was also a file that contained some really nice .CMF works. The CMF player does a really nice job and in fact doesn't flake-out on files that the 'PLAYROL' program has problems with. As far a libraries, they had MSC (c,s,m,l sizes) libraries and something for QBASIC as well. The MSC libs didn't have any attached documentation, so I can`t tell you much about them other than that they contain about 40 function calls (according to lib.exe). There was a sample program and new driver for playing .VOC files from your own 'C' programs ... the sample program couldn't find the card on my machine. If anyone out there wants more info, I could try to e-mail you ... good luck emailing to me; email around here is a bit iffy. If some kind soul out there could send me descriptions of the functions provided in the MSC libs ( .h file or just docs ) I would greatly appreciate it! I can see the calls, I just don't know what to pass to them or what to expect back. Glad to be of service ...
