Looking for advice on Hard disks.... I currently have a 386 clone with Seagate 296N 80meg drive and an ST02 8bit SCSI controller. I need to replace the 8 bit controller card w/ a 16 bit card or lose the SCSI Drive and Interface for Windows 3.0 enhanced mode compatibility. For $100 my friendly dealer will replace my ST296N and ST02 with a Conners 100Meg HD (IDE type?) which connects directly to my System board (ie no external controller card). My questions are: what do I sacrifice if I trade in the SCSI drive? What advantages does it have over this IDE type Drive? I presume that connecting directly to the System board gives me 32bit access and the best I can get (afford) with a SCSI Interface is 16 bit access... am I right? I appreciate any answers or comments anyone might have..... Thanks! Bob Stewart !att!mvune!rws
