I'm having trouble with a board that I'm building which does 16-bit reads and writes and needs a few I/O waits inserting for one of the commands used by a custom chip. We tried to do this but the PC ignored the signal. Could anybody tell me if this is just because the signal didn't reach the CPU early enough (goes through a couple of pals and buffers). Trying to solve the problem with an old manual suggested that the 16-bit write may overwrite the I/O wait but this seems silly. Please email replies and if requested I will summarise to the net. Thankyou in advance.
