Greetings, I have seen and used the network to discuss computing problems and have had much success; I realize there is a wealth of consulting know-how out there, more than I could ever afford to pay for, and I have tried to solve this problem myself, but the frustration factor is getting to me. Any assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated. If at all possible, please respond via direct Email. I am having problems enabling an MNP transfer using my PM2400SA MNP/Level 5 modem. I have tried everyting I can think of to resolve the problem, and now feel I am either misunderstanding the MNP facility or am missing some important setup element. I dial into the University's network which is also outfitted with MNP level 5 modems (Microcomm's AX2400C rack mount model). Upon connection, I do get the "/REL" confirmation message for a reliable link. However, the high speed indicator light (orange) never lights during any file transfer, using any protocol. I have even tried connecting to an identical computer setup, using identical modems, but the indicator never lit. I frequently use Procomm's ASCII or Y-MODEM G BATCH modes for downloading, to avoid error-checking slowdowns in software over hardware. Am I realizing the full potential of the modem? I get throughput so maybe I shouldn't complain, but I got that before I "went MNP." Enclosed are the current setting as reported with Procomm, as well as the DataStorm Technologies script file which aided in the setup. If I can provide any further information, please do not hesitate to ask, and I thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.
