I am interested in purchasing a 386 SX from a Mail order company called DAK. Has anyone heard of the manufacturer ( BSR?) It has software bundled in with the computer. Here are the particulars. 386 SX 16 Mhz 1 Mb Memory 2 Serial Ports 1 parallel Port 1 Game Port 40 Mb hard drive 3 open expansion Slots VGA 16 Bit 256k memory on the motherboard VGA Monitor 640 x 480 .31 dot pitch 1 year on site warranty ( Honeywell Bull Service) Some of the software that comes with it: Quattro Pro Ms Windows 3.0 Wordstar 5.5 Reflex 2.0 Gem Deskstop Publisher w Plus Gem Word Chart GEm Graph PC USA Grammatik 4 Key Form Designer All of the Above for $1799.00 Plus I upgrade the memory for $79.00 and 40mb to 80mb for $179.00. The reason why I haven't bought it is because of the following reasons: Should get a system that has Super VGA ( 1024 x 768) or not? Super VGA is not the standard among most programs. Will standard VGA suffice? (My primary use will be Word Processing, Games, DP, Communcations, and fun. Will 3 expansion slots be enough? Is this brand (BSR) realible? Has Anyone else bought this computer? Please Help me! I am undecided as to what to do. Regards, Sherwin, W Gem
