I need some help from anyone who has some knowledge of the Kaypro line. I installed a HD floppy controller which has its own onboard BIOS. Since I have a turbo 8086 machine I had to enable this to support the HD drives. However, Kaypro in their wisdom(?) has a "multi-function card" which consists of the RAM,the original low density controller, and the parallel and serial ports. I am not sure, but it seems that the original controller is fighting with the the new one. On startup I get a message that 1.44 M controller installed, but I cannot read from any type of disks at all. Is there a way to disable the original controller? The controller BIOS on the HD card can install itself at three memory locations and I have tried them all, but the same result occurs Right now I am using MS-DOS 4.01. Any help would be appreciated.
