I'm curious if there are any video cards that do the following: - Support 1024 X 768 X 16/256 mode - Support CGA, EGA, and VGA, *without* having to have a multi-sync monitor. In short, I have a 1K x 768 48kHz monitor that does not multi-sync, and I would like to find a card to drive it that *also* supports the other standard modes by simply `upconverting' the video rate for the slower lower-res modes. In theory, such a card could accomplish this through line/pixel doubling or through using a smaller chunk of video memory and scanning it out at 48 kHz. Yes, the actual video for the low-res modes would occupy a smaller area on the screen (probably in the upper left hand corner), but I can live with this. I plan on using the monitor/card in hi-res mode most of the time, but I would like to be able to run ega/cga/what-have-you mode for applications that require it. And no, I'd prefer not to buy a new multi-sync monitor. Any pointers/info would be greatly appreciated! Mike mhorne%ka7axd.hss.pdx.com@uunet.uu.net
