[net.travel] Which virgin island?

ms (07/16/82)

Having never been to the Virgin islands it is very difficult to pick out
a particular one that would be best to spend one's honeymoon at ! Also there
is one slight extra problem - It has to be owned by America, you see I'm Britishand when I get married to an American my Visa status status changes etc etc. So
please if anyone has been to an "American' virgin island have you any
recomendations, or does everyone here always go to the others so that they
get the advantage of the cheap booze! Any help gratefully received.

If you seek tranquillity, go to St. John (and if you have the bucks,
stay at Caneel Plantation). If you seek commercialism, go to St. Thomas.

I agree with the suggestions of St. John and St. Thomas. However, if you
are still uncertain, I would further suggest looking into a cruise of the
Carabean islands. This is how my wife and I spent our honeymoon. On a
cruise, everything is planned for you (i.e. food, entertainment, lodging,
etc.). And you're catered to hand and foot. It will be money well spent!
I suggest Home Lines since that was the line we cruised on.

Good luck.
