First, Thanks to everybody who adviced for my problem. My trouble with 386(16Mhz) system was that it didn't boot up and beeped 3 times. My system uses 386 with AMI BIOS. Here is the summary of the answers Three short beeps ---> First 64K memory test failure. One long and two short beeps ---> Video setting error. My trouble was that the contact between the memory chip and the socket was bad. First, I changed the first 64K memory chips with the upper address memory chips. Then, my POST program started and gave me " Checksum error" message. Then I replaced the two memory chip groups again. but I turned on the power and tested every time while I replaced one chip pair. Then... the problem's gone.. So. My conclusion is the bad contact between the chip and the socket..No money.. but this was good experience for me. Thanks again to everybody to answered for my posting and your advices.. AMI's phone # 404-263-8181 1346 Oakbrook Dr. Suite 120 Norcross, GA 30093. <Soonam> p.s. As I know, the AMI is connected through the UUCP net. Do they have any account for HELP?
