I posted a similar article in comp.binaries.ibm.pc.d but, getting no response so far, I decided to ask here, too. Has anyone made this thing work? A year ago, Daniel Durbin posted in c.b.i.p.d that he had, but I haven't heard of anyone else who has. I and two other people that I know of here at NMSU have built it, but only two of them produced output and the third never made a sound. The output we did get, though, was only the firing of the (many) capasitors in the circuit. Has anyone else run into this? And, more importantly, fixed it? Also, are there any products out there that will allow you to digitize a sound track (preferably 8-bit) and allow you to play back your sample without needing special hardware for the playback? I know they're there. RealSound(tm) is an example of it. But what hardware device will let you record in a format that allows you to playback using only a program and the PC's speaker?
