[comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware] SIMMs, part 2

davidsen@crdos1.crd.ge.COM (Wm E Davidsen Jr) (09/18/90)

A week ago I asked if someone knew where to get sockets to convert SIMMs
to SIPPs. Ha! A few smart peole told me that I could take a soldertail
SIMM socket and plug the wires in the SIPP holes, and why didn't I think
of that?

After calling 11 local stores today and finding one which even knew what
a SIMM *was*, I started calling mailorder and didn't find anyone who
sold less than a hundred at a reasonable price. So, does someone have an
idea where to get the stupid sockets now?

Thanks to all who responded the first time.

VMS is a text-only adventure game. If you win you can use unix.

I just walk over to Fry's Electronics, Lawrence Expressway,
Sunnyvale California.

Oh, you're not in California? Sorry.

But seriously, try Digi-Key, 800 344 4539. Around $4 if you don't
need the gold plated versions.
