Hello I have been asked to gather information on printers and I was hoping that the NET could help me. What I would like is, for the different types of printers (dot matrix, bubble jet, ink jet, etc), a list of known problems or annoyances (print head blockages, paper jamming, etc) and advantages (robustness, quietness, ease of replacement of consumables, etc). The application that the printer will be used for is one of presenting data collected from an instrument. The data will be presented in both character and graphics modes, i.e. as raw number dumps or formatted reports and as graphs and spectra. Price would probably exclude laser printers from consideration. Any replies will be greatly appreciated. I will post or send a summary if there is interest in the results. Thanking you in advance, Ian -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dr Ian Jamie | "We have sailed many weeks, Research School of Chemistry | we have sailed many days Australian National University | (Seven days to the week I allow), Canberra, ACT, Australia | But a Snark, on which we lovingly gaze, e-mail jamie@rsc0.anu.oz.au or | We have never beheld till now!" imj502@csc1.anu.oz.au | Lewis Carroll --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
