I am trying to install a 30 meg hard disk from an older Compaq DeskPRO (using a Compaq controller that ran the 30 meg) into an (possible) even older Compaq portable. I am told that it can be done, but not how. Anyone who has some particulars on what the procedure to get it to be recognized by the protable would be helpful. I have done the physical installation and have verified that the disk is spinning, but upon boot-up, it is not recognized. I have booted from floppy, tried debug level format, but to no avail.
