I need technical data about the QuadLink Apple emulation board for the IBM PC. (QuadLink is a board formerly made by the former QuadRAM corporation that sits in an IBM, and allows one to switch into an Apple mode). In particular, I need to know what ports on the IBM are hooked to what things in the Apple. (Disassembling the quadlink.exe drive gave a few of the mapping: now I know how the Apple requests serial data from the IBM, for instance). What I would like to really know is exactly how one can run 2 programs on both sides of the board (IBM and Apple) that would communicate in some way. I suppose that what I want to do amounts to writing a smaller version of the quadlink.exe driver. Here are some specific questions: To what hardware port does the PC send each key hit so that the key ends up in the Apple? (I couldn't trace far enough through quadlink.exe to find out). How does one access the Apple floppy controller from the PC? (Can one?) How does the Apple talk to the PC printer? And, are there any softswitches left on the Apple end that would allow one to communicate more data with the IBM. (I would like to write a ProDOS driver for the IBM HD...)
