[comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware] Info on VLSI parallel port chips

overby@plains.NoDak.edu (Glen Overby) (10/15/90)

I recently bought a couple of parallel port boards and found that both of
them use a 40-pin VLSI chip. I'm interested if anyone knows of any info on
the chips or the companies that make them. Heck, if you know anything about
any VLSI parallel port chips I'd like to hear about it.

What I really want to know is if they will operate bidirectionally (I've
tried some obvious type of punching 00 and 0xff into their control ports).

no-name-on-the-board S/P/G board

If there is any interest, I will post a summary of any info I might get.
