I am a novice at PC Hardware so please no flames if this is an often asked or easy-anybody-should-know-the-answer question. I did check the old posts to see if it had already been asked but with the large volume of this group it's quite possible I missed it so I apologize if this is a re-question. I have a PS/2 Model 55sx which has a slot for a 387sx coprocessor. Unfortunately, as a student, I can't afford the price of the coprocessor so I'm hoping to beg and borrow one from my advisor. He has a 387 coprocessor in his PC which he does not utilize since he got his DecStation. My question is; Is it possible for me to use this 387 in my 386sx? Or is it possible to even go lower and say buy a 287?
