[comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware] booting an old XT without a keyboard

U5533129@ucsvc.ucs.unimelb.edu.au (CARDIOLOGY, R.M.H.) (10/16/90)

Is there any simple circuit that can be wired to the keyboard socket of a PC
to look like a keyboard so it gets through its self test.

We have an old PC here which we want to use without a keyboard or monitor. The
BIOS doen't provide for ignoring keyboard errors (such as missing keyboard).

Alternatively, does anyone have a hacked BIOS to do this (on an XT)?

Many thanks,

Peter Summers
