I was looking at some slides recently of a trip I took this summer, and it
reminded me of a really beautiful place that didn't have too many people.

It was on state road 128, north of Moab, Utah, along the Colorado river.
The place is accessible from the interstate by going thru Cisco,
a modern day Indian ruin (no offense meant).

The valley here has sculpted sandstone pillars, similar to Monument
Valley, vast open spaces, and sweeping curves in the formation
near the river.

The road runs very near the river, for the most part. Although most parts
of it have been paved recently, there is one thing that may make it
rough for some people: a suspension (!) bridge with a weight limit
of 4500 lbs, too low for many large cars.

It is in stark contrast to Moab, a tourist trap where you can get on
raft trip to see this valley.
