[net.travel] Free Flight Offers

carol (12/02/82)

A few weeks ago, I submitted an article about the offer by
Polaroid that if you buy a plane ticket on Delta they will
pay for the second ticket, when you buy the Polaroid Sun
Camera. I was wondering if anybody knows anything about the
details of this offer since I plan on taking at least 2 trips
by myself and wondered if the offer was for only 2 people at
the same time. I haven't received any responses and thought
maybe it didn't get out to net-land. I would appreciate any
information anybody has. I've also now heard that Kodak has
some kind of offer also, and I know nothing of the details to
that.

							 Thanks in advance,

I have heard the advertisements on these things, and am concerned
of only one thing; they sound good up front, but make sure ( i believe
this to be the case, correct me if I am wrong) that the offer
does not hinge on the requirement that the ticket you buy
must be a full price fare. If this is so, and i believe that it is
the case, I would suggest calling the appropriate airline and see
what the "Supersaver" fare is for the same flight. Some fares
are 50% of cost when the supersaver option is used, there are some
restrictions, however. Therefore, if you can live with the supersaver
restrictions, you can get two tickets for the price of one regular
fare, and save buying a camera or whatever. However, if you cannot
live with the restrictions, better buy some film for that new camera.

TANSTAAFL: There ain't no such thing as a free lunch!!!
