Well, for the second time since late 1987 I'm looking at replacing the battery inside my AT. The clock is slowing down incredibly. However, I thought this time I'd pose a question to the net experts. I have heard of some sort of device (from Rayovac?) which automatically recharges while the power is on and supplies power to the CMOS/clock while the power is off. Does anyone know where I can acquire this device or something similar? Also, is it at all unusual to have to replace the battery every year or year and a half? Is a slow clock the normal symptom of a dying battery? Or could there be some other cause? (The clock, by the way, is a tad too slow even with a new battery. Not horrible, I admit, but still slow.) Please mail responses -- I'll summarize to the net if interest warrants. Thanks in advance. Timothy F. Sipples sip1@quads.uchicago.edu T.F.S.
