I called SWAN Technologies and asked the guy if they were using the Tseng Labs ET4000 Chipset in their sVGA card? He said, no, they're using the Tseng Labs ZIPS Chipset. This is a new one on me. Is the term "ZIPS" just the buzzword name for the ET4000 (or ET3000?) and the guy is wrong or is this a different chipset entirely from Tseng Labs. The card is $189 w/512K memory. The chipset is important to me because Tom Roell's next x11r4 VGA server will take advantage of the ET4000 (640x480x256, 800x600x256). I really appreciate someone in the know clearing this SWAN card chipset info up. Of course, I could always wait for someone with a SWAN card to try the new server when it arrives and see if it comes up in 800x600x256 ;). I'd call Tseng Labs directly but that could be a waste of $5 (no 800 number) that could go towards this cheap ET4000 sVGA card I'm trying to find ;-). ----------------------------- Steve Hite ...gatech!uflorida!unf7!shite
