[comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware] I need a large scanner

rlb@cohesive.UUCP (Bob Braun) (10/23/90)

I need a scanner that will handle 22 inch by 34 inch engineering
drawings, or a service organization that can digitize lots
and lots of large drawings. Also need a laser printer to print
proof copies of drawings in 11 inch by 17 inch. Would like at
least 300 x 300 dpi, and more if possible.

Houston Instruments makes an attachment for their plotters which scans
drawings. They also provide software for raster-to-vector conversion. You
could easily buy into this system for under $10K. (You'll need AutoCAD for
the R/V conversion, I believe) See your local Houston Instruments dealer
(or me! :-) for details.
