[comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware] 4 meg chips: will mix with 1 meg types?

mwallack@kean.ucs.mun.ca (Michael Wallack, Political Science, MUN) (10/19/90)

I read in the Economist Magazine that 4 meg memory chips
are in full scale production and will be on the market
soon...Does anyone know if these chips will be interchangable
with current one meg chips in your average 386 clone?

Negative

The usability of 4M chips needs to be designed in to the product. If the
vendor would have done so, he would have advertised it.
