Recently (Octover 28) at a Montgomery Wards store; I saw two versions of the Headstart computer. Both versions contained a 1.44Mb 3.5" floppy, 40MB hard disk, CD-ROM drive, mouse, Microsoft Bookshelf, Groliers encyclopedia, another CD-ROM of miscellaneious databases and sixteen software software packages. The CD-ROM drive is audio capable and there is a earphone jack, volume control and stereo jacks mounted on a card support in the rear of the computer. Both machines have expansion slots. The Headstart XL is an 8088 based machine for $799 and the Headstart 300 is an 80286 based machine and is $1995.00. Has anybody purchased one of these machines, how do you like it? Please note; the above prices do not! include the monotor or a printer. VGA and SVGA monitors are available at $350 and $400 respectively. Robert S. Jaquiss Jr. Internet: robertj@tekgen.bv.tek.com
