(VGA-VGA-VGA-VGA-VGA-VGA-VGA-VGA-VGA-VGA-VGA-VGA-VGA-VGA) I would like to know... (15 to 9 pin terminators) I have what I believe is a multi sync monitor. It`s connected to a Paradise 480 CGA/EGA card and all works fine! I'd like to upgrade to VGA... Ah! but there hasn't been a "non"-standard like this since someone came up with something called RS-232. In short, I'm looking for schematics for the termination necessary to go from 15 pin balanced pair VGA analog to the 9 pin analog (this is what my monitor uses as input). Ideally, I'd use the nine pin connector found on some VGA cards. However, I understand this to be only a digital output, not capable of producing those 256 different colors (or am I wrong about this?). While were are talking about VGA... (multi sync/8 or 16 bit bus) What I'd like to end up with is a VGA card that's capable of producing ~15KHz out for CGA, ~20KHz out for EGA and ~30KHz out for VGA (yes, a multi sync card). The card needs to run in my XT look-alike, but take advantage of a AT type 16 bit bus when I upgrade (as soon as I can find an excuse to upgrade!). Memory expansion to 512K Bytes would be nice, but this usually means the +1000 dots mode which, I think, runs at a frequency just out of the range of my monitor. Any suggestions? (Vendors, mail order houses, brands or further discussion...) ....thanks for your help Rick Stuart Lisle IL I'll summerize if I get enough responses!
