I have an odd problem, maybe someone can help? 1) I had an XT, a ST-157R-1 hard drive, and a WD 27X (RLL) controller running just fine, drive divided via OnTrack --> 3 partitions. 2) I upgraded to a 286-12 board, using same HD & controller. Worked fine for one day. I let SpinRite run overnight to adjust interleave, etc. 3) The next time I booted the computer, it acted as if there was no drive C:, not to mention logical drives D: or E:. 4) I guess I should get a 16-bit controller. More importantly though, can I 'reset' or program the controller so that it WORKS (whether it is the 8- or 16-bit doesn't matter) w/o doing a LLF, so I can salvage some of the data? (I only had about 15 megs worth... but still...). i.e. does anyone know where the drive info table is in the controller / how I can correct? Thanks very much for any help! I will post summary if interest abounds.
