I currently own a NEC Powermate I. It is a 286 machine run at 8 MHz. I want to upgrade it into 386 machine, but so far I couldn't find any body sell the motherboard that fits into the case. If any body has any experience in replacing the motherboard for this computer, please give some information. Other alternative in my mind is to change the clock of this 286 to 12 MHz. I know that I have to change the memory, but the problem is I don't really know which one the clock generator is, 'cause it seems NEC uses their own chip (not intel at least) for the clock generator. And if I can replace this clock, how about the bus speed, is it still 8 MHz ?. Any information will be greatly appreciated, especially if any one have the circuit diagram of it. Thank you. -anto- snugroh@hubcap.clemson.edu
