I have a vanilla taiwanese AT-clone with a RLL-controller, one hard disk, one 5.25" HD floppy drive and one 3.5" HD floppy drive attached to it. The floppy disk drives are manufactured by Teac. It happens quite often that when I have used a 3.5" HD disk on the drive, and then insert a DS/DD disk in it, and then DIRECTLY try to write in it without first going to the disk (writing B: at the prompt), the directory gets damaged. FATs seem to be ok, but the directory goes. I have vanilla MS-DOS 3.30 and use 4DOS 3.02 as a command interpreter. (The 4DOS doesn't cause the trouble, I have tried it with COMMAND.COM. Any ideas? --Kauto -- ****************** Kauto Huopio (huopio@kannel.lut.fi) ********************** *US Mail: Kauto Huopio, Punkkerikatu 1 A 10, SF-53850 Lappeenranta, Finland * *****************************************************************************
