Does anybody know a way of constructing device (maybe a plug with a resistor jumping 2 of the pins?) that plugs into the keyboard jack on a PC and tricks the BIOS into thinking the keyboard is there so that the system will boot, thus avoiding my all-time favorite IBM error message -- "Keyboard error, press F1 to resume." The problem is we've got a stack of AT's acting as servers for communications, network file server, printer servers, etc. and we have no room on the desk for keyboards! We just want the machines to boot up and execute whatever is in their autoexec.bat's. Please e-mail responses, and I'll summarize. ~~~Steve -- /************************************************* * *Steven Abrams abrams@cs.columbia.edu * **************************************************/ #include <std/dumquote.h> #include <std/disclaimer.h>
