Hi, netters! A friend of mine is considering upgrading his CGA adapter to a VGA card. He wants to buy a cheap, no-multisync b/w VGA monitor. Besides his XT, he has an old Bondwell laptop which uses CGA, too. Question: will he be able to junk his old CGA monitor entirely and use the VGA monitor with the laptop? As far as I know, a VGA card & monitor should be able to display all CGA and EGA video modes as well. Does this imply that a garden variety VGA monitor can handle the video signal generated by the CGA card?
