Hello y'all, I'm planning to purchase a Sound Blaster card. Does any one know where I can find it for about ~140 or lower maybe? Also someone mention the cmf chip is really bad, what is your opinion on this? Thanks. Nan

Thanks. > I got mine at Fry's (local sillycon valley electric wonderland/warehouse) for $165. Watch out.. there are two versions.. the newest version doesn't have the cms chips ($35 extra) but does include more software and is supposedly a bit more robust.

Not many people answer my post so I did a little reseach myself. Here is what I found: Telemart 1-800-537-4735 sells the SB for $149,
ComputAbility 1-800-558-0003 sells it for $159.
Any cheaper ones?

These trade shows hit differnet areas. I have had very good luck at these shows. I have bought 4/5 of my computer, including memory at these shows. Some of the vendors there have warrenties (usually 6mo - 1yr) plus some of the big manufacturers have them too.
