[comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware] Drive geometry for Conner CP3184 IDE

bobd@magnus.ircc.ohio-state.edu (Bob DeBula) (11/16/90)

I'm installing a Conner CP3184 IDE hard drive in an
AST Bravo model 5. Unfortunately, the 84Mb Conner
drive did not come with any drive geometry information
(I need at a minimum to know the number of cylinders,
number of heads, number of sectors, and precomp (if any)).
I do not see the drive described in the 47 predefined
types in ASTSETUP so I'll probably have to low level
format it manually. If anyone has any information
regarding the proper geometry for the CP3184 and/or
any information on installing it in an AST Bravo,
I would very much appreciate receiving any information
you may be able to provide via e-mail. Thanks in
advance.
