[comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware] Locating drive select jumpers on MAXTOR XT1105

sgren@dynas.se (Johannes Sjogren) (11/16/90)

I wold like to know how to set my MAXTOR XT1105 drive to Drive Select 2
(currently it's set to 1).
There are several jumpers on the drive board, but none of them seems like
an "obvious drive select jumper".
Please mail me if you know.

Thanks	/Johannes

The following should help in making the correct Drive Select on the
MaxTor XT1105 (or any of the XT1000 series) drive(s). There is a 6 pin
header on the circuit that looks something like this:

                      4 C 3 2 C 1
                     -------------
                    | o o o o o o |
                     -------------
                      1 2 3 4 5 6

Note that only one of the schemes for numbering the pins will be used -
not both! Selection is made per the table below:

      BOARD LABEL | 4C32C1 | 123456
   ---------------------------------------------------------
Function | Pin Numbers | Pin Numbers
   ---------------------------------------------------------
      Drive Select 0 | 1.C | 5.6
      Drive Select 1 | 2.C | 4.5
      Drive Select 2 | 3.C | 2.3
      Drive Select 3 | 4.C | 1.2
   ---------------------------------------------------------

Good luck.
