[comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware] SCSI Controllers/Drives

elliott@aero.org (Kenneth B. Elliott III) (11/20/90)

The time has come for an upgrade to SCSI. However, after hearing
various horror stories about the SCSI almost-standard and mis-matches
between controllers and drives, I'm volunteering to compile a list of
SCSI controller/drive combinations that actually work. So...if you
are currently running a system that has a SCSI controller and drive
(hard drive, CD-ROM, TBU, etc.) connected to it, please *e-mail* me
the controller name/model no., peripheral name/model no., Operating
System, and how long you've had it running. I'll compile a list, and
post when volume of replies tails off. Hopefully, this will stem the
seeming incessant flow of "Will my El Cheapo SCSI controller work with
the Big&Fast Corp. drive?" questions to this group.
