Howdy Ya'll, I've got a problem similar to one posted recently, and I'm hoping that someone can help me get this straightened out. I've got: IBM (true blue) 6 Mhz AT (the old one) with 2 Meg RAM, 2 - 20M hard drives (Miniscribe) generic 16 bit DFD/DHD controller (new) 1 - 1.2M floppy (5-1/4 inch) Teac 1 - 1.44M floppy (3-1/2 inch) Teac 2400 baud modem, CGA card. The problem is that DOS 3.3 won't recognize the 1.44M floppy. When I try to access it, after a long while of trying, I get a message back "Drive Failure". DOS 3.1 allows me to access the floppy as a 1.2M capacity, however. I realize that I have a fairly old machine, and a local computer store that has an IBM license says that no ROM BIOS upgrade exists for the old 6 Mhz mach- ines. The 8 Mhz ATs can be upgraded apparently, but not mine. Anyway, what I'd like to know is, is there a device driver anywhere that allows the 1.44M floppy to function normally in my beast? Thanks very much. -Paul Paul R Work aka "The Studebaker Kid" pwork@blackbird.afit.af.mil
